    Our Mission

Nashville RBI uses baseball and softball and the power of teams to provide inner city youth with opportunities to play, to learn and to grow, inspiring them to recognize their potential and realize their dreams.

    About RBI

Nashville RBI started in 1996 with a grant from Major League Baseball. The Nashville chapter now involves more than 900 boys and girls ages 5 to 18, and is designed to promote youth interest in baseball and softball, promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the games, increase the self-esteem of disadvantaged children, and encourage academic participation and achievement.

    Nashvillians on RBI

"I have been a supporter of Nashville RBI for several years now. It has been a great pleasure to see Reggie's determined efforts with the kids as the program has grown. They are learning about baseball, of course, but the broader emphasis on life skills and good citizenship is most important of all."

    - Bill McInnes

    2010 Nashville RBI Golf Classic

Nashville RBI hosted its annual golf tournament on June 7 at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club in Hendersonville, Tenn. Along with the golf tournament, participants enjoyed a lunch, dinner and silent auction. Items up for auction included several baseball bats signed by major league stars such as Torrii Hunter and David Price.

    Inaugural Players and Coaches Clinic

The 4th Annual Baselines and Grapevines Wine Tasting

The fourth annual Baselines and Grapevines wine tasting was held Aug. 20 at Miro District Food and Drink.  Participants in the event, including Mayor Karl Dean and his wife, Anne, sampled wines from around the world while bidding on a variety of great items in a silent auction.  This year’s Baselines and Grapevines raised over $8,000 for RBI!

    2009 Lipscomb University Baseball Game

On April 25 several hundred Nashvillians teamed up to give RBI participants a major league experience. When RBI players walked onto the Lipscomb University baseball field to play what they thought was a typical game, they were shocked to find over 1,500 people waiting to watch the game. The players were also treated to the singing of the National Anthem and hearing their names announced to the stadium packed with cheering fans.

    2009 Hot Stove League Dinner

Five of baseball’s big league names gathered to benefit Nashville RBI at the “Hot Stove League Dinner,” raising $12,000 for the program.  The highlight of the dinner was a panel moderated by 104.5 radio personality Willy Daunic featuring David Price, Tampa Bay Rays pitcher; Cleveland Indians reliever Jensen Lewis; ESPN “Baseball Tonight” analyst Buster Olney; major league umpire and Nashville native Chuck Meriwether; and Vanderbilt baseball coach Tim Corbin.  More than 70 people attended the event at Nero’s Grill on Jan. 26.
